Keeping a Promise

Another massive picture that was way too large for the scanner. Once, again, I have drawn my favorite character... Kamiya Kaoru.

For those few who actually read my latest journal entry, this is one of the reasons that my art grade was so terrible. The paper this is drawn on was originally supposed to be for a perspective exersive that I found to be just too boring. I like to think that I'm somehat above three-D block letters.

There are references to the Rurouni Kenshin manga plot in this drawing. Note how Kaoru's weapon seems to be a broken stick. During the fight with Kamatari, she was able to win while using only the handle of her destroyed bokken. It's difficult to see because of the lighting, but The circular thing is actually the counter weight of her opponents scythe.

I'm rather proud of the way that this turned out. The contrast of black and white makes her eyes stand out brilliantly. Heh, I used a blue highlighter.

Geez, maybe, if I showed this to my art teacher, she may have raised my grade. Personally, I think this is a lot better than the assignment the paper was designed for.

But that's just me.
